Howdy, folks! Hope you don't mind me jumping ahead a bit, but the Soundtrack Project is now tackling In Japan Origins! The first (or last, depending on your point of view) part is now available. Click here for more details!

And so we come to the conclusion of the In Japan Origins trilogy, with what is chronologically the earliest of the three. In this story, we learn more about the new character of Megumi, and the circumstances that brought her from her comfortable life in America to a new home in her native land of Japan.
Enjoy the story! Hello, everybody! I present to you the middle chapter of the In Japan Origins trilogy! Written by the amazing Jason Bertovich, I present to you In Japan Origins: Matt. Enjoy!
Howdy, folks! As promised a few days ago, a new story from Martha Wadley is now available for your enjoyment. I present to you, To Conquer the World IV: To Hang In the Balance. This story features a guest appearance that may be a treat to anyone who is a fan of a certain juvenile genius.
On top of that, there may be a second new story today... Something that might be a 500 page epic, and that might be the start of a whole new series staring a different version of Matt, Mike, Aaron, and the Bills. It might be...or it might not be. But in order to find out, you will have to do a tiny bit of hunting as this tale is something of an Easter egg. (You shouldn't have to hunt too hard, as it is somewhat related to the story linked above.) Well, until next time! Hopefully quite soon! Hello, folks! Sorry it has been a few months. I must admit I've been bad. But I hope to get back to the writing very soon!
In the meantime, both Jason and Martha haven't been lax, and they have both given me new material. So before I get back to my own stuff, I owe it to them to see that their efforts are presented! Ladies first, of course. So while I don't have it ready for presentation quite yet, very soon you can look forward to a new To Conquer the World story! And that would bring it to a minimum of at least four stories, enough that I feel it worthy of "spin-off" status! The website has been reorganized accordingly. After that, I'll get to one of Jason's stories. (That's right. Stories. Plural. Jason is quite the prolific bastard!) This is one that I've been sitting on for quite a while, in part because of some behind the scenes turmoil.(Don't ask... I'm sure you'll eventually get the gist in some authors' notes.) But we'll finally get around to the second In Japan Origins story. Then after that, I suppose we'll get to something of mine. I do have the third and final In Japan Origins story pretty much written. It'll need some revision I am sure, but nothing major. Then I have more material from Jason to sort through. I don't wish to speak too much of it, as I still need to review all of it myself and decide what to do with it. But presumably, it will be more enjoyable stuff to share with you all! Then finally, once I have that material all exhausted, I shall return to writing and continue the saga of So again, sorry it has been a while. And nothing new quite yet! But look for it very soon! Hopefully proving that the words "Prequel Trilogy" don't automatically mean, "Oh dear god! Aaaargh! My eyes! They are bleeding! Aaaahhhhhhrghhh....," I now present to you the first in a trilogy that will show the journeys that various characters undertook to end up in Japan.
In Japan Origins: The Boys. Enjoy! A continuation of Martha Wadley's squirrely epic! Enjoy!
This isn't strictly Boy Scouts ½ related, except in that the character of Happosai made a non-canon appearance in Boy Scouts ½ Anime Deathmatch III (and could theoretically someday make a canon appearance in Boy Scouts ½ in Japan), but I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of the actor who portrayed Happosai in the original Japanese language version of the Ranma ½ anime series, Mr. Ichirô Nagai. (I learned of this via a report on the Anime News Network website.) Some of Nagai's many other voice roles include Konakii-jiji in several versions of Gegege no Kitarō, Dr. Sakezō Sado in Space Battleship Yamato (a.k.a. Star Blazers), the narrator in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series and movies, Jigorō Inokuma in Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl, Karin-Sama and Tsuru Sennin in Dragon Ball, Netero in the ongoing Hunter x Hunter anime, Cherry in Urusei Yatsura, Professor Amamori in Queen Millennia, Dr. Reichwein in Monster, and Mito in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. He had just played the old man at the Phantom Ramen Shop in the second episode of Space Dandy. In live-action films, he voiced Dumbledore in the Japanese dub of the Harry Potter films and Yoda in the Japanese dub of the Star Wars films. On another note vaguely related to Boy Scouts ½, when looking of a picture of Happosai to include with this posting, included in the Google Image Search results was the above drawing, which seems to have been done by the very same Richard Palmer who, once upon a time, and after winning the Boy Scouts ½ Website First Anniversary Contest, was fictionalized as an antagonist of the Klondike Derby storyline (appearing in parts 15 and 16). But back to the original topic of this post, Boy Scouts ½ would like to offer condolences on the passing of Mr. Nagai, and to thank him for the enjoyable performances he has given us over the years. Well, folks. First of all, new story! Boy Scouts ½ in Japan, part 7 (by some schmuck known as yours truly) is now available for your reading enjoyment!
Second... I had quite a surprise e-mailed to me from Jason Bertovich today. That horseshit that was the subject of the last update? The long forgotten ill conceived attempt at a spin-off that was going to forever be on a cliff hanger? Yeah, well, here's some closure for you if you'd like it. (In all honesty, I rag on Outlast, but it is a fun little popcorn read, and a bit more to bring it to some resolution made me smile. Hopefully it does for you, too.) Finally... this one may only be of interest to anyone who may be a long time reader of Boy Scouts ½ (if any other then myself and Jason exist), or to the exceptionally bored and curious... but I dusted off one more piece of long forgotten material from the original Geocities version of the website... Accessible from the "History of Boy Scouts ½ on the Web" page (or, to make it easy for you, directly accessible by clicking here) an archive of Guestbook entries left by visitors to the website from 1998 - 2000. That's it for today, folks. But it is definitely a good chunk of stuff, so hopefully it will keep you all content for a wee bit. Share and enjoy! I know that once upon a time I declared, "Restoration... Complete!" Well, even at the time I admitted that there may be a few things still lacking... My exact wording was, "Yeah, there are maybe one or two minor things, extras from the old website, that have yet to be ported over. And I may get to that eventually. But, to quote Dallas from the film Alien, 'Horseshit! We can take off without that.'"
Well, folks, I have some fine horseshit for you to enjoy today! Available now, and for the first time in probably about a decade without use of The Internet Wayback Machine, I present to you the failed Boy Scouts ½ spin-off, The Outlast-the-Other-Guys Challange! Good luck! Er, I mean, enjoy! |
